Soooo—-how do you actually melt them—in the oven? In the microwave? What temp and for how long? There are no instructions other than what you need to make them! I’d love to try these with my after school program kids. Could you let me have the rest of the instructions? Thanks so much!
Hi Angie! These are intended for the recipient to make s’mores however they typically do at home. You can roast just the Peep on a long skewer over a campfire and then sandwich between the crackers and chocolate; build the s’more and microwave on high for about 15 seconds; or stack the chocolate and Peep atop one cracker in a 350 degree oven for about a minute and then topping with the second cracker once removed. All methods you’ll want to keep a close eye on so that the marshmallow doesn’t burn or, in the case of the microwave, expand too much. With the after school kids, if you have access to a microwave that would probably be easiest – Peeps are a ton of fun to watch them grow (and shrink back down) in the microwave! The Pumpkin and Ghost Halloween Peeps are coming out soon and would be absolutely adorable for this!
What a cute idea! I know little people who’d LOVE these!
Thanks, Rachel. They were a huge hit at the office so I guess you’re never too old for Peeps fun!
