one-way train

Hogwarts

Sometimes you just have to set calendar reminders to nudge yourself to do the things you love.

Contrary to popular belief, I did not hop on a one-way train to Hogwarts during my recent visit to Orlando. Life happened, and suddenly I found myself setting calendar reminders to nudge myself to do the things I loved: edit photos that had been sitting on my camera for way too long and jump back on the blog to share my adventures both in and out of the kitchen.

So what have I been up to? In a span of less than a month I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area; celebrated my 30th birthday with my mother at Universal Studios in Orlando; traveled to both Alabama and home to Texas for week long work adventures; and ate a ton of good food along the way.

I can’t wait to finish editing and uploading the rest of our Harry Potter pictures and I’d be doing you a disservice if I did not tell you that you need to jump on a plane right now and go visit for yourself. Submerging ourselves in the world of Harry Potter for three days was absolutely incredible. I half expected to see owls or broomsticks flying overhead while we were roaming the alleys of Hogsmeade and the halls of Hogwarts. I can one hundred percent guarantee that Mom and I will be headed back in a few years when the next phase is unveiled.

Hogsmeade

Stick around as we’re heading into Fall and I promise to keep in touch and share my favorite holiday recipes.
